What you'll do

  • Business Partner with the Proposition & Product (food, packaging & menu planning) teams and budget owners to evaluate business proposals, identify savings & efficiency opportunities, and review the effectiveness and ROI of business activities.
  • Business expertise - develop a detailed understanding of our product & proposition costs and relevant KPIs that can help drive and control the business. Become the go-to person for questions and financial/analytical support from your business partners.
  • Business cases & projects - lead the financial analysis and insight for key proposition-related business cases and projects.
  • Ad hoc financial analysis & insight - complete analytical reviews into key spend & KPI performance to enable proposition & product costs and ROI to be effectively challenged.
  • Monthend - lead monthend and preparation of the monthly management accounts for gross margin & proposition budgets, ensuring costs are accurately recognised in line with Corporate & Financial guidelines.
  • Monthly reporting - provide timely and accurate monthly budget reports to Management and Leadership Team members, detailing actuals vs budget performance, including insightful analysis and commentary on key trends and variances.
  • Monthly forecast cycle - work with budget owners to forecast YTG spend and determine key risks & opportunities to the FY.
  • Annual budget - lead preparation of the annual budget for product, gross margin & proposition, providing insightful variance analysis of key performance drivers and building block changes vs prior year.
  • Improve purchasing control by monitoring and improving the use of the Purchase Order Management System by purchasers, and provide guidance on negotiating terms with new suppliers.
  • Manage 1 direct report

Requirements

Your skills

  • CIMA/ACCA fully/part-qualified (part-qual CIMA will be at Management Level or above)
  • Minimum 4years Finance experience, with at least 2-3 years experience in commercial finance/ FP&A role(s)
  • Excellent numerical and computer skills (essential: Excel; desired: Google Suite - sheets, docs, slides)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • A proactive attitude, curious mindset and a logical approach
  • Independent and able to find solutions to problems
  • Accuracy & attention to detail
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills
  • Honesty and discretion - you’ll be dealing with sensitive information
  • Adaptable
  • ‘Can do’ attitude
